Lynn, Founder of BFO, sensed a call to missions while working as District Manager for a child care corporation. She had received an M.A. in Education Administration and a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, and her professional career had evolved from Preschool Teacher to Director of multiple programs. Lynn had helped start on-site child care centers for corporations – from the design and construction phase through the National Accreditation process. Her experience includes business management, teacher training, curriculum development, and leadership development.
Often asked how she went from there to BF, Lynn explains, “I had reached a point in my career where I felt like I had benefited from the expertise of others, and now it was time to share my gifts where I could make a greater impact in improving the quality of life for young children. Life was comfortable where I was. It was time to step out of the comforts of the U.S. and go where others were unable to go.”
Lynn is from a family of eight and was born and raised in Missouri (U.S.A.). As a single woman, a professional career woman, and with a heart to serve, she has resided in BF since June 2003. When asked how long she plans to stay, she responds, “All I can say is, I feel like we’re just getting started, and I can’t imagine leaving. I’ll always miss my family and friends and everything else I used to take for granted; but I’m blessed by both worlds as I get to experience life in a third world country as well as return home each year.”
